A trucking industry event is returning to Fresno after a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The American Trucking Show will host its two-day event at the Fresno Fairgrounds on April 15 and April 16.

The American Trucking Show, hosted in conjunction with the North American Punjabi Trucking Association (NAPTA), brings together those in the local, regional and national trucking community.

The event is free to the public and gives visitors the opportunity to network with major decision makers in the industry and to learn about the newest technology, products and services available on the market.

Over the two days, the event will feature exhibits of new and modified products, services and ideas, a recruiting center, a “Show & Shine” truck display show and entertainment including live bands and food trucks.

Raman Singh, CEO of the American Trucking Show and NAPTA, was in the trucking industry since 1996, owning his own trucking company in the Bay Area. He left to get into the media side of the industry in 2012 when he founded Punjabi Trucking Magazine.

Singh also opened a trucking company in the Central Valley in 2002, which his cousin eventually took over.

Singh founded the American Trucking Show in 2014. The first three annual events were held in the Fresno Convention Center in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2017, the event moved to Cal Expo in Sacramento until 2019, when Covid-19 forced the event to be cancelled.

The event for this year will feature over 100 vendors with everything from truck parts, tires, insurance companies to banks, transportation software, cameras and more.

“Anything that anybody needs to enter the trucking industry—any advice or anything like that, we have it. We have trucking companies that are hiring like crazy,” said Singh.

The live entertainment will feature a live four-piece band on Friday and Indian singers on both days. Prominent Punjabi singer and film actor Sharry Mann will perform on Saturday.

The Hidden Wealth Foundation, a sister organization of NAPTA, will be hosting a Festival of Colors event to celebrate the popular ancient Hindu festival, Holi. Hidden Wealth is a Fresno-based organization aiming to provide social support services for communities living in adversity.

The Holi festival event will feature children’s rides. A ritual of the Holi Festival has people splash brightly colored dyes and powders on each other. This event will also be ticketed and also be held at Fresno Fairgrounds.

“Whatever industry you’re in– 70% of the things in your house come from a truck, so if you appreciate those truckers, go to the show and support these people working hard day and night,” Singh said.

The American Trucking Show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
