An inclusive playground addition is coming to the south lawn of Valley Children’s Hospital thanks to an $8 million gift from Table Mountain Rancheria.
The space will feature adaptive equipment, sensory-friendly zones and shaded areas, serving as the cornerstone of the hospital’s commitment to holistic pediatric care, according to a news release.
“This gift is more than a playground — it’s a promise to our children that their well-being matters,” said Todd Suntrapak, President and CEO of Valley Children’s Healthcare. “We are deeply grateful to Table Mountain Rancheria for their vision, generosity and enduring partnership.”
Table Mountain Rancheria Tribal Chairperson Michelle Heredia-Cordova said the gift reflects the two parties’ hard work and commitment to giving back to the community through meaningful donations.
The tribe was a first-time winner of the Best Business Supporting Local Charities award as the Best of Central Valley Business Awards on Dec. 9.
“Every child deserves a place to play, grow, and heal, right here at home,” Heredia-Cordova said. “We are honored to support Valley Children’s Hospital in creating an inclusive play area where children of all abilities can come together, have fun and find comfort during their journey to wellness.”
Table Mountain Rancheria has been partnered with Valley Children’s for over a decade, cementing its legacy as one of the Valley’s largest philanthropic givers; this year.
“This is the kind of partnership that brings our mission to life,” said Valley Children’s Healthcare Foundation President Robert Saroyan. “This latest demonstration of their generosity will help create a space where children can experience joy and healing in ways that truly matter.”
