A Fresno County Supervisor went viral last year for a video he posted featuring what appeared to be paranormal activity on an overcast February afternoon.
Now that footage is featured on the international television series “Paranormal Caught on Camera.”
Fresno County Supervisor Luis Chavez captured the eerie video while walking precincts in the district he represents, showing a lone palm branch seemingly suspended midair. The supervisor walks around the palm branch, which is hovering gently about a dozen feet off the ground over a residential street.
The video, now pinned on his Instagram account, saw 14 million hits on his page alone, according to Chavez. The clip was also featured on the Discovery Channel’s “Weird Weather” show last year.
Chavez shared his thoughts about the opportunity to showcase Fresno, home of other paranormal-familiar locations like the Meux Home Museum and Kearny Mansion, as well as world-famous cryptid “Fresno Nightcrawler.”
“This was an unexpected opportunity to share a unique part of Fresno’s story with the world,” said Supervisor Chavez. “But more importantly, I’m grateful it allowed me to give back to our community and help ensure families have access to food and resources.”
Chavez refused payment for the footage’s use on television, opting to instead donate the proceeds to the Central California Food Bank, highlighting his commitment to supporting Fresno families struggling with food insecurity.
Episodes of “Paranormal Caught on Camera” air on the Travel Channel. The show is currently in its ninth season and can be seen here, as well as streaming services including Netflix, Youtube TV, HBO MAX and Hulu.
