The Visalia Sportsman’s store will be located at the Grove at Packwood Creek shopping center, and will be the eighth California location.
It will be the second Central Valley location for the sporting goods retailer. Fresno’s Sportsman’s Warehouse location opened in 2015 at the Park Crossing shopping center at Friant Road and Fresno Street.
The Visalia location is expected to open in the second half of the year.
Everett, Washington and Pueblo, Colorado are the other two Sportsman’s Warehouse locations projected to open this year.
“We are excited to further expand our presence in states we know very well. These new markets have a large user base that is currently under served through existing retailers,” stated John Schaefer, Sportsman’s Warehouse CEO. “The additions of these stores keep with our business plan, promoting stable growth that will benefit our company, our vendors, and most importantly, our loyal customers for many years to come. To further expand in existing states, signifies our continued strength in the west. Each of these areas has a strong outdoor heritage, and we plan to become an active, contributing partner in each of these great communities.”
The Grove at Packwood Creek features more than 278,000 square feet of retail space with nearby anchors including Wal-Mart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sears and Hobby Lobby.
