Calling all small-scale farmers, ranchers, researchers and community organizers! Join us for the Small Farm Tech Expo on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at UC Merced — a hands-on event that showcases what’s possible when technology is designed for and with small farms in mind.
Hosted by Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) with support from F3 Local through the F3 Initiative, this free event will feature live demonstrations, practical workshops, and tech tools tailored to help small farms boost efficiency, reduce labor, and stay competitive, all while staying true to the values of local, community-based agriculture.
Why This Event Matters
Too often, ag technology is built for large-scale operations, making it inaccessible to the majority of California’s family farms. The Small Farm Tech Expo aims to change that narrative by highlighting innovations that respect scale, budget and sustainability.
Whether you manage an urban garden, a small organic vineyard, or a diversified family ranch, this event will introduce you to tools and strategies that can help you work smarter, not harder.

What You’ll Experience:
Live Demos of farm-tested, appropriately scaled equipment
Open-source + digital tools you can deploy this season
