The grand opening weekend of Fresno’s PM Lounge kicks off this weekend with the members-only lounge making good on a promise of star-studded entertainment.

DJ Diesel, also known as Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame member Shaquille O’Neal, will perform a DJ set at the PM Lounge on Thursday, Nov. 13 to kick off the three-day grand opening, according to an Instagram post.

The grand opening festivities are only open to members and prospective members.

Also performing is Michael Huntley, the 2023 winner of “The Voice” television show. The blues rocker performs under the stage name “Huntley.”

“Not only do I get to perform at this exclusive top of the line venue but I also get to close the night with the legendary @shaq,” Huntley wrote on Instagram.

Top of the line is what the team behind PM Lounge hopes to provide to members in the kitchen and with luxury touches at the 16,000 square-foot lounge at 8059 Cedar Ave. near Nees Avenue.

More than 200 membership applications had been taken for the PM Lounge as of Sept. 15, with a cap of 800 members. Each member may bring up to three guests each visit. 

Apart from country clubs, there haven’t been many members-only clubs in the Central Valley as seen in places like San Francisco and the Bay Area. 

The Downtown Club on Kern Street in Downtown Fresno operated for more than 30 years. The member-only restaurant closed in 2013.
