The Save Mart Companies announced Thursday the rollout of a sweeping price reduction campaign, cutting costs on over 4,000 essential items in Save Mart and Lucky stores in California and Nevada.

The move comes in an era of economic uncertainty and skyrocketing costs in the grocery sector and aims to provide relief to struggling families, according to a news release.

“As families across the nation are grappling with inflation and economic uncertainty, we knew it was time to act,” said Jim Perkins, president of The Save Mart Companies. “Shoppers deserve a break, and this aggressive campaign is designed to bring affordability back to the table.”

The Save Mart Companies will be cutting costs on everything from avocados, bananas and chicken breasts to non-food staples like toothpaste and laundry detergent.

The California-based company said it hopes its campaign can help reshape the grocery industry.

“By making a significant price investment and negotiating with our supplier network, we’ve cut through the noise of rising costs to deliver what matters most — unmatched savings without sacrificing quality,” Perkins said.

No signs-ups or coupons are required for the reduced prices. On-sale items across every department will be marked with a red “Lower Price” tag.

Online customers will also receive the same low prices as in-store customers — something the company describes as “unheard of” in the grocery industry.

The Save Mart Companies, whose banners include Save Mart, Lucky Supermarkets and FoodMaxx, said that it will continue to deliver value to customers during one of the most challenging economic periods in history.

Last year, The Save Mart Companies joined The Jim Pattison Group, a Vancouver-based holding company that generates approximately $16 billion annually and represents more than 50,000 employees around the world.
