A north Fresno Thai restaurant is preparing to host its grand opening.

Satay Thai Kitchen & Bar, described as “a modern Thai restaurant that blends traditional flavors with a contemporary dining experience,” will host its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Thursday, May 8 at 2 p.m. The restaurant, former home of Nambo Vietnamese Cuisine, is located at 8967 N. Chestnut Ave. near Shepherd Avenue.

The event will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres for all guests, according to a news release.

Satay Thai Kitchen & Bar is co-founded by Sophorn So. The eatery had a soft opening in February, according to social media. It currently carries at 4.7-star Yelp score with 45 reviews.

“We’re excited to bring something truly special to the local dining scene,” co-founder So said in a statement. “Our goal is to create a place where people can gather to enjoy authentic Thai food, innovative drinks, and a warm, welcoming environment.”

The restaurant features a full-service bar with Thai-inspired cocktails, a “thoughtful” wine selection and imported beers— “all designed to pair perfectly with the bold spices and fresh herbs that define Thai cuisine,” according to the release.
