A Starbucks location in downtown Sacramento became the 300th in the nation to unionize after an election victory April 14.

Employees at the store at 7th and K streets a few blocks from the state Capitol joined the Starbucks Workers United union on a vote of 11-2, the union announced.

It’s the first store in the Sacramento area to successfully unionize. Two other locations in downtown Sacramento and El Dorado Hills voted to reject a union.

The National Labor Relations Board held a union vote for the Starbucks at 7010 N Marks Ave., Ste. 105, in Fresno in July 2022, counting 14 votes — all against unionizing with Starbucks Workers United.
