A service center for a popular electric vehicle brand will be opening in Fresno.
Irvine-based electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian Automotive, Inc., is undertaking renovations for a service center at 4507 N. Selland Ave. in Fresno near Shaw and Marty avenues.
The 16,180 square-foot facility was previously occupied by solar company SunRun. While Rivian officials shared the address of the location, no opening date has been announced.
There are currently 11 Rivian automotive service centers in California, with four locations in the works, including Fresno.
The nearest Rivian service center is in San Jose.

The company was founded in Rockledge, Florida, in 2009 as Mainstream Motors by Robert Scaringe.
After a couple of name changes, it was renamed Rivian Automotive in 2011, and began focusing on autonomous and electric vehicles. Operations were relocated to California in 2020.
According to Rivian’s 2024 annual report, the company produced 49,476 vehicles and delivered 51,579 last year.
The publicly traded company (RIVN on Nasdaq) reported gross profit of $170 million for Q4 2024.
The company refers to its products — electric trucks and SUVs — as “Electric Adventure Vehicles.”
Tesla, the other major EV manufacturer, has also expanded its presence in Fresno with a showroom in the former Fresno Infiniti location near Palm and Herndon avenues.
