PINC has selected the Valley Children’s Healthcare Oncology/Social Services Family Help Fund as its 2018 beneficiary.

The fund is used by social workers to help families in need within the hospital. This includes assistance with gas, food and hotel stays for visiting family members of cancer patients at the hospital. Ashley Hyatt, president of PINC (Philanthropy Inspired by the Needs of our Community), said the beneficiary was chosen because it isn’t as heavily funded as other programs at Valley Children’s.

“For the 10th year of PINC, we wanted to go big. We wanted to finally be able to hook up with Valley Children’s Hospital and help them in a way that they don’t always get funding,” Hyatt said. “A lot of times, people give money to Valley Children’s that goes to all these different places, but this is one particular fund that doesn’t normally get help, so we were so excited to find something new that we could give to Valley Children’s.”

To raise money, PINC will be hosting the Roaring Twenties-themed “PINChibition” on June 2, 2018.

Past beneficiaries include Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch and Feed Our Future. To date, PINC has raised nearly $500,000 for local organizations.
