Pacific Gas & Electric Co. is forecasting strong winds and heavy rain from midnight tonight through midday Friday that may cause service disruptions.

PG&E crews from the Yosemite, Fresno and Kern divisions have been advised. The potential for outages may be even higher for mountain communities.

“PG&E is working closely with cities and communities in the area to ensure that we are prepared for the storms impacts,” according to a PG&E news release.

Customers are advised to be prepared for possible outages by fully charging cell phones and ensuring they have fresh batteries for flashlights or battery-powered lanterns. PG&E warns against using candles as a lighting source.

Customers can go to pge.com/outages to report an outage, view status on an existing outage and subscribe to email, voice or text messaging updates.
