PG&E tomorrow is unveiling its first telemedicine kiosk at its contact center in Downtown Fresno. The kiosks will allow employees to connect virtually to a board-certified doctor in a matter of minutes for as little as $4.90.
The kiosk is equipped with biometric devices that allow the doctor to take a patient’s temperature or blood pressure. It is also equipped with a Dermascan camera to check for sun damage.
The doctor can also electronically order prescription medication to the pharmacy of the patient’s choice.
Some of the common non-emergency ailments treated via the telemedicine kiosk could include colds and flu, bronchial, upper respiratory and ear infections, insect bites and unknown rashes and sore or strep throat.
