The Association of Fundraising Professionals, California Central Valley Chapter, has named Karin Chao-Bushoven as the Fundraising Professional of the Year. Chao-Bushoven is director of major gifts at Fresno Pacific University.
BANKING & FINANCE
In California, Dave Brett has been appointed as Suncrest Bank’s new market president for the Visalia area and surrounding communities. Brett most recently managed the Visalia branch of Bank of the West and has deep roots in the local community. The appointment comes as Suncrest is opening its new flagship location at 501 Main St. in Visalia in early January 2017.
Union Bank has announced the appointment of Jim Lynes as commercial banking regional vice president covering California’s Central Valley market. He reports to Peter Sitov, managing director and market president for Northern California and the Central Valley, commercial banking. Lynes is based in Fresno and will maintain an office in Sacramento to better serve the needs of businesses operating across the Central Valley. In his new role, Lynes is responsible for Union Bank’s Commercial Banking growth strategy covering the Fresno and Sacramento regional Middle Market offices. He is responsible for serving the needs of closely held, private equity owned, and publically traded entities in the Central Valley.

Selma Attorney Paulette Janian has received the Justice Pauline Davis Hanson Award by the Fresno County Women Lawyers. Janian is a partner in the Selma law firm Shepard, Shepard and Janian. The award is given to women who find success in the legal profession and support other women in the field.

Principal Financial Group announces Cliff Hall has joined its Central California Business Center. Hall will serve as financial advisor, assisting individuals and small to mid-size businesses. Hall was most recently employed as a document compliance consultant with Reynolds & Reynolds. The Central California Business Center is located at 1350 East Spruce Avenue. ENGINEERING
Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group has expanded with the addition of three new staff members in three of the firm’s offices. The newest professionals on staff include: Trelawney Bullis, EIT, as an assistant engineer based in the firm’s Clovis office; and Harrison Hughes, EIT, as an assistant engineer, and Richard Baker as a senior construction manager, both based working in the Fresno office. Baker has over 28 years of experience in the construction services field, where he worked on public works and capital improvement projects as resident field inspection, construction inspector, quality assurance inspector, and lead inspector. Bullis is a recent graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in bioresource and agricultural engineering and minored in irrigation water science. Hughes has two years of experience in the engineering industry, and graduated from California State University, Fresno where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a minor in mathematics.
