Fresno-based Nexus Administrators, Inc., offering retirement plan assistance for more than 30 years, has announced a partnership and merger with Navia Benefit Solutions, a nationwide provider of health, life, retirement and compliance solutions.
The partnership will strengthen Nexus’ expertise in the retirement market and bolster Navia’s reputation for creative benefit solutions, according to a news release.
The terms of the merger were not disclosed.
“Customers want access to health and retirement solutions. Adding Nexus to the Navia family enables us to provide a total benefit solution for our clients and their employees,” said Hilarie Aitken, CEO of Washington-based Navia. “They have a combined 30 years of experience in the retirement space. We are excited to join forces to provide a powerful retirement solution to employer groups.”
The partnership looks to be a great fit for both organizations, according to Nexus CEO Tom Tsaris. Nexus employees will fall under the Navia family umbrella and will continue to serve Nexus clients without interruption.
“Our companies are culturally compatible and have grown from similar foundations,” Tsaris said. “We share similar visions for the future, and we are incredibly excited to bring our teams together.”
With roots dating back to 1991, Nexus has served more than 2,000 clients in the retirement plan market, including solutions in 401(K), 403(B), profit sharing, employee stock ownership plans and other retirement solutions.
Nexus formed in 2020 with the merger of All Valley Administrators and Retirement Plan Consultants, making it one of the largest retirement plan administrators in California.
At that time, it represented 1,800 total plans, 125,000 client employees, 80,000 plan participants and $1.8 billion in plan assets supported, reported GVwire. It had 39 employees in its Fresno office.
Founded in 1989, Navia is a national, consumer-directed benefits provider, serving more than 10,000 employer groups in 50 states with comprehensive health, life, retirement and compliance solutions.
