There’s new life coming to the former Sweet Tomatoes restaurant location in north Fresno — not of salad bar variety, but more water cooler.
The former eatery is currently being converted into offices, according to workers on site. The nearly 6,700 square-foot building had been closed since March 2020 due to coronavirus restrictions.
Report: All Sweet Tomatoes to close for good, including Fresno location
The San Diego-based parent company Garden Fresh Restaurants in May 2020 announced the permanent closure of its 97 restaurants, including the Fresno location at 7114 N. Fresno St. and 43 additional California eateries.
The feasibility of a buffet-style, self-serve model post pandemic was cited among the reasons for the chain’s closure.
Fresno County real estate records show the building, part of the Woodward Centre office complex, is owned by Tremonte Properties.
