KSEE24 (NBC) and CBS47 introduced Andy Paras as news director effective April 28. Paras will oversee local news operations for both Nexstar Broadcasting-owned stations, including broadcast, digital and streaming content.

Paras brings with him more than 20 years of experience in journalism and newsroom leadership. He most recently served as news director for FOX 55 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he led the team to double its primetime ratings and set digital engagement records.

His career also includes news leadership roles in Florida, Indiana and South Carolina, as well as an Emmy nomination for field producing at WCIV in Charleston, South Carolina.

A graduate of Ball State University in Indiana, Paras began as a reporter and later became the first social media editor at Charleston newspaper The Post and Courier. There he contributed to the Pulitzer Prize-winning series about domestic violence, “Til Death do us part.”
