The Adventist Health Amphitheater will celebrate its grand opening and kick off its first-ever summer concert series starting later this month.

Located in the heart of Tulare at Zumwalt Park, the amphitheater looks to attract big names to the Valley and drive 50,000 tourists to Tulare annually.

The amphitheater will celebrate a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, May 24, at 4 p.m., followed by an event featuring the Tulare Community Band, Tom the Mime and Dunsbar Road. The family-friendly event will also feature food, drinks and a full bar, as well as local vendors.

“This exciting concert season is expected to have a profound impact on the local economy, welcoming thousands of visitors, driving tourism and supporting small businesses throughout the region,” said Tulare City Manager Marc Mondell. “This amphitheater is an investment and I’m excited to see a lasting benefit for our residents and our community.”

This year’s concert series’ lineup kicks off on Friday, May 23 with Los Lobos, and will also feature 13-time chart-topping country artist Clint Black on June 28 and Bay Area-based band Starship with A Flock of Seagulls on Friday, Sept. 5.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work alongside the City of Tulare and Adventist Health to help bring this vision to life,” said Spade Entertainment owner and lead producer Todd Speelman. “We’re thrilled to have secured an incredible lineup of talent that reflects the energy and spirit of this community.”

Spade Entertainment, which promotes concerts at the amphitheater, also looks to continue adding to the groups performing at the amphitheater for future series as well, with a history of delivering a wide range of music from rock and country to Hispanic, jazz and alternative.

The amphitheater, which was a joint project between the City of Tulare, Tulare Chamber and Adventist Health, features a capacity of up to 6,000, as well as lighting and landscaping.

Zumwalt Park also saw the addition of a new playground and splashpark nearby during the renovation.

The Adventist Health Amphitheater is located at 455 E. Tulare Ave., in Tulare. Additional information about the concert series, parking and more can be found here.
