Hemisphere Home in north Fresno is now ready to declare itself open after a soft opening in November.

The interior design showroom and store, located in the Opus One shopping center at Bullard and Palm avenues, focuses on custom fabric, accessories and furniture to “give people an opportunity that they can’t buy anywhere else,” said owner Roseanne Guaglianone.

Hemisphere Home sells hard-to-find fabrics the yard, which, according to a press release from the company, is a rarity. Many of the items available there are exclusives sourced by Guaglianone, and rather than having a limited supply like many big-box retailers, she says, many of the items are available on an unlimited supply.

The name Hemisphere connotes the wide variety of items available from different cultures, colors, attitudes and functional needs.

“Regardless of someone’s style — traditional, eclectic, organic, rustic, global — my mission is to help create an environment that feels as if it has always been that way,” Guaglianone said.

Guaglianone said another thing that sets her store apart is the consultation side of the transaction.

“You might come in thinking you need a new sofa, “Guaglianone said, “but because of our approach in learning more about you and your current home or office, we may instead find an amazing new fabric to recover your old sofa and use that savings to re-imagine the room with a new piece of art or another furniture piece that better completes your ideal.”

Guaglianone is no stranger to fashion and retail.

She opened her first store Interior Systems in Fig Garden in 1989. Following that, she opened Hemisphere Furniture in 1995, but it closed in 2008 after the recession.

Hemisphere Home is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Private design consultations can also be made.
