The new owner of the shuttered Radisson Hotel in Downtown Fresno has experience turning properties around.

“As of today, my partners and I are the proud owners of this symbolic building,” Sevak Khatchadourian, owner of the nearby Pacific Southwest Building said.

Sevak Khatchadourian announced Tuesday his investment group is the new owner of the 195-room hotel that has been closed since December 2022 due to city fire code violations. Work also needs to be done to fix the roof, Khatchadourian said.

Khatchadourian would not disclose a sale price. He said they have not yet determined what they will do with it.

His construction company, Los Angeles-based Quadrant, Inc. will do the rehabilitation. The company recently opened an office in Fresno, Khatchadourian said.

Khatchadourian also owns the Pacific Southwest Building nearby, transforming the property from 5% to 95% occupancy in about a decade.

Among the improvements laid out by the city to reopen the hotel is updating the 50-year-old fire control system to current standards.

Khatchadourian’s investment group also owns the Helm Building. He said they have submitted plans with the City of Fresno for construction on what will be 99 rooms.
