Local art craft vendors, mostly women-owned businesses, will be selling their creations at the Mujeres Market in Manchester Center on Saturday, Nov. 15.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., more than 65 vendors will be selling “a little bit of everything, said event organizer Gabby Gaona, from clothing, handmade jewelry, crafts and much more.

Gaona said the Mujeres Market event takes place once a month, but the organizers wanted to throw two events this year to give people more chances to shop during the holidays.

The event has been taking place for the last two years each month, and occasionally twice a month, Gaona said.

The events usually take place at Campus Pointe in front of the Maya Cinemas movie theater and at Manchester Center.

“The goal is to create a safe space for women who are just starting out in business and have somewhere to go and see if this is what they want to do. We have low vendor fees and accept everybody if we have the space, whether they are just starting out or not,” Gaona said.

Mujeres Market is not exclusively for women vendors, Gaona added.

Gaona said the popularity of handmade vendors markets has exploded in recent years, especially since more people started exploring homecrafts during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Gaona said she tries to curate a variety of vendors so there aren’t  too many people selling the same things.

“We have a good variety of everything at the market,” Gaona said.

She said that some vendors have had to raise the prices for their products because of tariffs on craft supplies, but she still sees strong support for local small businesses, and has seen increases in customers lately.

The Mujeres Market will also take place on Campus Pointe on Nov. 22.
