Actor Chris McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore, will make an appearance at a Fresno Grizzlies game Aug. 28.

With opening day 58 days away, the Fresno Grizzlies unveiled their 2025 promotional schedule Wednesday morning, which features 34 unique theme nights. 

“We have another great collection of theme nights this year that I know our community will absolutely love,” said Derek Franks, president of the Fresno Grizzlies, in a news release. “Our staff is consistently focused on putting entertainment at the center of the experience at Chukchansi Park, and that heavily drove the creative process behind this year’s promotional calendar.”

Some of the key promotions this season include Opening Night on April 4, Dino Nugget Night on May 10, the 10th anniversary Fresno Tacos jersey giveaway on May 30, and an appearance from actress Kate Flannery (Meredith from The Office) the following day. 

Flannery’s appearance continues The Office star power. Leslie David Baker, Stanley from The Office, made an appearance on Sept. 8, 2023.

The Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza is set for July 4. Aug. 1 features “In My Grizzlies Era Night,” while Aug. 28 includes “Gold Jacket Night” with Chris McDonald (Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore).

“We’re really excited to bring Chris McDonald, especially with Happy Gilmore 2 coming out later this year,” said Jonathan Bravo, the director of marketing and communications for the Fresno Grizzlies. “It was absolutely something that we wanted to bring to our fans.”

Single-game tickets go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. on the Grizzlies website, with early access for season ticket members.
