A pair of Fresno events dedicated to making stuff — and one toward eating stuff — are returning with dates set in the fall.

Exhibitor and sponsorship registration is now open for the 8th annual Valley Made Manufacturing Summit, to be held at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center on Oct. 26. The annual event is designed as a workshop and resource expo celebrating innovation in manufacturing and strategies for empowering the workforce.

Coming later in the fall is the 2023 MADE Central California food industry trade show, scheduled for the Fresno Convention Center Nov. 2-3. The event, formerly known as the Fresno Food Expo, brings together local food and beverage companies with qualified retail and foodservice buyers.

This is the second year for the event after it was revamped by the Fresno Chamber of Commerce in 2022 after a two-year hiatus.

Also returning is the Pressure Cooker Competition, which will award $10,000 to a winning exhibitor and additional cash prizes for second- and third-place winners.

The grand-prize winner of last year’s event was Fresno-based St. Francis Homeless Project, which employs women who are homeless or in recovery in making dog treats.

MADE Central California will also feature a public event the evening of Nov. 3 where people will be able to sample products offered by the exhibitors. Tickets for this popular event go on sale in September.
