Madera County farms saw a drop in value for crop production in 2022.
According to the 2022 Madera County Crop Report, the gross value of all production was $1,993,331,000, a decrease of $55,164,000 (2.6%) when compared to production in 2021.
Almonds (nuts & hulls) still rank as the county’s No. 1 crop with a $570,739,000 total value, but still saw a decrease in value compared to $760,205,000 value in 2021.
Milk again ranked No. 2 in the county, with a 2022 dollar value of $454,727,000, up from 2021’s value of $330,812,000.
Overall field crop value in 2022 reach ed$105,811,000, a 35% increase from 2021’s value of $79,236,000.
