The Madera County Department of Public Health has announced a partnership with Kaiser Permanente on the “Your Shot at Fun” vaccination incentive program.

The incentives are meant to urge those who haven’t been vaccinated against Covid-19 to do so.

“We are proud to support Madera County Department of Public Health’s ‘Your Shot at Fun’ campaign because we recognize the importance of continuing to educate and inform residents, especially in those communities hit hardest by the pandemic,” said Kaiser Permanente Senior Vice President and Area Manager Wade Nogy.

Prizes for the incentive include a Disneyland family vacation, Six Flags annual passes, Monterey Bay Aquarium annual family memberships, California State Parks passes and more.

Madera County residents 5 and up will be entered to win after receiving at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, whether their first dose, or a booster dose.

Winners will be chosen at random every Friday through July 1.

“Our vaccination rate has been slowly climbing and we would like to reach at least 70% for community protection,” said Sara Bosse, MCDPH Director. “Some folks wanted to be vaccinated right away. Others needed time to feel comfortable getting the COVID-19 vaccine.”

Despite more than 63% of Madera County residents aged 5 and up have received at least one vaccine dose, vaccination rates among young children, especially ages 5-11, are low.
