Quady Winery in Madera took eight medals in the Chronicle Wine Competition, including a Best of Class for its 2021 Elysium in the red dessert category.

One local winery took Best of Class honors in the annual San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition — the largest competition of North American wines.

A total of 195 wines were selected for awards in respective categories, chosen out of 5,500 wines submitted from more than 1,000 wineries.

Quady Winery in Madera took eight medals, including a Best of Class for its 2021 Elysium in the red dessert category.

The Fresno State Winery earned three medals, including gold for its 2019 White Dessert/Late Harvest – RS.

Madera-based Cru Winery took home six medals — three silver, two gold and a double gold for its 209 Pinot Noir from the Sierra Madre Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley.

Moody Press Cellars, made by San Joaquin Winery in Madera, earned three medals including double gold for its Russian River Valley Rose.

Idle Hour winery in Oakhurst won gold for its 2021 sparkling Petillant Naturel as well as a silver medal for its 2021 Grenache Blanc.

My Italian Cousin, made through a partnership with Ricchiuti Family Farms in Clovis and Napa Valley winemaker Massimo Monticelli, won double gold for its 2019 Eugenio in a red blend category.

Papagni Wines in Madera won two silver awards and one bronze.
