Two locally rooted restaurants celebrated their grand opening in the post-security concourse at Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT), marking the latest phase of a broad effort to elevate concessions and showcase local brands.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Wednesday morning to celebrate the opening of Mad Duck Craft Brewing Co., Ike’s Love and Sandwiches and Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant. Two of the restaurants — Mad Duck and Ike’s — have already opened; Los Amigos hopes to open shortly after flooding delayed construction.

Mad Duck, known for its beer, burgers and wings, began a phased soft opening earlier this month on the second floor of the terminal near gates 5–17. The airport location is the fifth for the brand, which also operates in Clovis, Campus Pointe, northwest Fresno and near Copper and Maple avenues. The menu is slightly abbreviated for the travel environment and is open from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

“Our big thing is we’re trying to create a restaurant that the people of Fresno are really proud of,” said Mad Duck CEO Alex Costa.

Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant, a Fresno staple for over three decades, will follow soon. Owner Ricardo Flores Gaona’s airport concept features a mariachi-and-folklorico theme, a full-service bar, a panadería and grab-and-go items. Its ABC license was approved the day of the ceremony.

Both restaurants operate under a licensing agreement with SSP America, the country’s leading airport food service operator.

Mayor Jerry Dyer tied the openings to December’s terminal expansion, which added two gates and locally crafted art displays, and said more is coming.

“For our local travelers it’s one last taste of Fresno before leaving the Valley — and that is to dine like a local,” Dyer said.

The airport served a record 2.7 million passengers in 2025.
