Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California (BBBSCC) will soon be able to spread its reach even further thanks to a donation of $1 million from the George & Melodie Rogers Foundation.
The donation, which earmarks $250,000 for the George & Melodie Rogers Foundation Scholarship Fund and an additional $250,000 for the George & Melodie Rogers After School Scholarship Fund, will also allow for expansion of its vehicle fleet, a parking structure and solar installations, expanded office and resource supplies and more
“On behalf of the children, parents, guardians, board members, staff, and myself, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the George and Melodie Rogers Foundation,” said BBBSCC President and CEO Diane Phakonekham. “We are truly humbled and appreciative of this generous donation.”
A check presentation took place Tuesday at the BBBSCC headquarters in Fresno.
The George & Melodie Rogers Foundation was established in honor of George A. Rogers, who founded PrideStaff, a Fresno-based commercial staffing franchise that has grown to serve clients nationwide.
Established in the Valley in 1968, BBBSCC has served more than 21,000 children in Fresno, Kinda, Madera and Tulare counties and affiliates with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Federation.
