A North Fresno liquor store has had its liquor license suspended following an alleged violation of the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Act.
According to public documents and store signage, Wine Barrel liquor store, located at 1105 E. Champlain Dr., in Fresno, is suspended from the sale of alcoholic beverages indefinitely.

Attempts to reach owner Hardeep Singh Kaler at the store’s listed phone number resulted in a disconnected number notification.
In 2018, Wine Barrel was hit with a 25-day suspension. The store was also previously suspended from alcohol sales in a separate incident, although the date of that violation is not available.
The March 12 suspension marks the third violation of the ABC Act, which is aimed at curtailing illegal alcohol sales and the sale of alcohol to minors. Repeated violations of the act can result in license revocation, according to disciplinary guidelines laid out by ABC.
According to suspension details, Wine Barrel has been listed as “closed” by ABC, citing section 25658(A) of the ABC Act pertaining to alcohol sales to minors.
