A bar in Hanford recently had its alcohol licensed revoked for allegedly selling something a little stronger than alcohol.
The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) announced Wednesday that The Lacey, located at 889 E. Lacey Blvd. in Hanford, had its licensed revoked after store employees sold cocaine to undercover ABC agents on multiple occasions.
ABC originally opened an investigation into the bar after receiving community complaints that employees were selling illegal drugs.
Undercover ABC agents said they were able to purchase cocaine on multiple occasions from a bartender who later set up a plan to purchase a controlled substance through a patron on another occasion.
A second employee and a patron were arrested for the sales of cocaine, and/or possession of cocaine to sell, according to the ABC.
The Lacey’s alcohol license revocation will be stayed for 180 days to permit for a potential transfer of the license, according to a release.
The Hanford Police Department helped ABC’s Fresno District office during the investigation.
According to ABC’s website, the primary owner of the Lacey is listed as New Image Enterprises, LLC, with the primary officer listed as Joseph Fernando Darosa.
