The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is now Blood Cancer United following a rebrand for the largest global nonprofit focused on serving blood cancer patients.

The announcement reflects on years of transformation and a renewed commitment to uniting the blood cancer community. The rollout will extend into future fundraising events, including this year’s Light The Night nationwide event this fall.

Blood Cancer United’s rebrand centers around a goal enabling people with blood cancer to gain more than one million years of life by 2040.

“We’re all about blood cancer, so people with blood cancer can be about everything else,” said Debbie Truhett, Blood Cancer United Central Valley region executive director. “This rebrand evolution helps make our mission, which has not changed, clearer and strengthens how we connect with the people and communities we serve right here in the Central Valley.”

Locally, the Central Valley’s annual Light The Night event on Nov. 14 will be the debut event under the new brand, and will highlight the new campaign with visuals and messaging.

Founded in 1949, the organization has invested over $1.8 billion in clinical research, offering free resources, personalized support and advocacy for patients affected by over 100 types of blood cancers.
