A personal injury law firm is celebrating its new world record, earned in Fresno with the help of hundreds of community members.

On May 14 — Mother’s Day  — Maison Law gathered 257 participants at Woodward Park to film the longest online video chain of people wearing and passing a helmet. Martin Gasparian, founder of Maison Law, organized the event to bring awareness to bike safety.

Maison Law commissioned a study finding that in 2022, there were 81 cycling accidents involving injuries in Fresno, rising 50% compared to 2021 and 68% since 2020.

At least 31 of those serious bike accidents in 2022 involved children and teens, according to the study.

Guinness World Records has certified the record, which was completed with help from the Fresno Cycling Club.

“While Maison Law holds the title, the accomplishment is one that the Fresno community as a whole can be proud of,” according to a news release.

Founded in 2014, Maison Law has offices in Fresno, Visalia, Madera, Hanford and more.
