A Latina entrepreneur is ready to launch her beauty products in one of the country’s largest retailers, and she’s celebrating the kickoff in Fresno.

Pilar Garcia, CEO and founder of Productos LATINA, a beauty product line designed for curly hair, will attend a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation at Fashion Fair on Friday to celebrate her products being showcased in 400 Ulta Beauty locations in the U.S.

She is the first Mexican entrepreneur to get her products in that many Ulta Beauty stores. Garcia lived in the Fresno area for a time, and still has family here. She relocated to Mexico to launch her product.

Productos LATINA was launched in 2020 with Garcia’s dream to create a brand of products specifically designed to highlight the natural beauty of curly hair.

In less than a year since it launched, her brand became the only Mexican hair brand at Sephora Mexico, placing it as one of the most recognized brands in the world.

Garcia was the keynote speaker for the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation’s 9th Annual The Power of Women in Business Conference on Thursday.

This year’s theme was “Ignite Her Potential, Transform Our Tomorrow,” which highlighted the power women hold to drive change not only in the own lives and businesses, but across entire communities.

Garcia said she is happy and proud for reaching the milestone of having her products in Ulta, and it has been a positive and interesting journey to get there.

“There were obstacles to get to this moment, but I feel happy,” Garcia said in Spanish. “In this day, being a woman and being Latina is a superpower. Women are in the best time to demonstrate who we are and that we can make our dreams come true. I am proud of who I am, and I want to share with more women to help them achieve their dreams.“

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on April 25 at 10 am at the Ulta Beauty store at Fashion Fair mall at 639 E Shaw Ave in Fresno.
