Want a Cinnabon with your nasal swab?

In Fresno, that can be arranged. Outside Forever 21 at Fashion Fair Mall, Covid Clinic has been operating since last month, offering rapid antigen tests for Covid-19 with results in as little as 20 to 30 minutes.

The testing is conducted as a drive-thru, and a trailer serves as the lab.

According to Christian Lara, a clinical trainer with Covid Clinic, their operations started in March with a single doctor in Huntington Beach. Seven months later, they have 16 testing sights up and running, with a 17th coming soon to Modesto.

“A lot of the hospitals and the pharmacies, you need preexisting conditions to have [a test], whether it be symptomatic or asymptomatic,” Lara said. “Testing was hard and it wasn’t accessible to everyone.”

The rapid antigen test costs $150. Lara added that the test is less intrusive, as the swab only goes into the edge of the nostril.
