The La Boulangerie French bakery location at Fig Garden Village in Fresno is closed Monday, the result of a fire.

The information was reported Sunday on the Nextdoor app. La Boulangerie said on its social media that the Fig Garden and Downtown Fresno location at the Pacific Southwest Building would be closed Monday due to “unforeseen” circumstances.

 

Efforts to reach a representative of the French bakery were unsuccessful Monday morning.

Commenters on the Nextdoor app shared unconfirmed information that it could be due to faulty wiring in the restroom.

The popular bakery offers cakes, pastries, sandwiches and more. It opened in 1980 and has been at Fig Garden since 1985. New owners purchased the business in 2017 and opened the second location downtown in 2020 that features an order window with patio dining only.
