Sinclair Broadcast Group has named Katherine Dougherty as vice president and general manager of KMPH/FOX and KFRE/CW in Fresno.
She returns to Sinclair after serving as integrated sales manager for KOIN 6 and Portland CW in Portland, Oregon. Dougherty formerly served as Sinclair’s station manager for NBC16/KMTR in Eugene, Oregon.
“Kathie is a proven leader with a strong track record of driving revenue growth, operational excellence and community engagement,” said Rob Weisbord, chief operating officer and president, local media. “Her strategic mindset and collaborative leadership style make her the ideal choice to lead our Fresno operations, and we’re thrilled she is returning to Sinclair.”
Dougherty assumes the role from Tanya Winscott, who served as vice president and general manager of the stations for just over a year.
Dougherty said the return to Sinclair felt like a return to “home” for her, expressing her admiration for the company’s leadership and innovative and locally-committed culture.
“I’m inspired by the team in Fresno and excited to get started, build strong partnerships, and support continued growth across the Central Valley,” she said.
Sinclair owns and operates two television stations in the Fresno-Visalia KMPH-TV (FOX Channel 26) and KFRE-TV (CW Channel 59). Sinclair acquired both companies in 2013, and operates out of Fresno.
