The 2022 Kings County Crop Report tallied a 10-percent increase in revenue from ag crops and products.
In 2022, the gross value of all agricultural crops produced in Kings County was $2.59 billion, representing a 10.7-percent increase, or $251.4 million, from the 2021 value.
Kings County is ranked eighth in overall agricultural production and first in California for cotton lint, cottonseed and wheat.
Livestock and poultry products saw the largest increase in value at $270.1 million, a 36.8-percent increase due to higher milk prices.
In 2022, the total value of milk was $993.6 million, up from the 2021 value of $713.1 million.
Field crops saw a 26-percent increase in value of $133.7 million due to higher prices.
In 2022, total field crop production in the county reached a value of $542.7 million, up from $428.9 million in 2021.

Spring rains earlier this year inundated some Kings County farms, heralding the return of Tulare Lake, which covered some 113,280 acres at the end of June.
The economic losses this year, estimated anywhere from $300 million to $900 million, were not reflected in the 2022 Kings County Crop Report.
