Jeremy is the Valley Children's Kids Day Ambassador for 2024. He’s a young hero whose imagination knows no bounds. He faces a formidable foe called Hemoglobin H Constant Spring, a type of alpha thalassemia, a challenge he shares with his younger siblings, Tinsely and Ryser. Kids Day photo

Valley Children’s Hospital announced today the return of Kids Day, with a goal of raising $400,000 to help support Valley Children’s Hospital.
For the first time in five years, thousands of volunteers will hit the streets to sell the special edition Kids Day issue Fresno Bee papers, filled to the brim with inspiring stories and imagery for $2 each in Fresno, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, Mariposa, Kings and Tulare counties.
Last year, volunteers sold $1postcards with QR codes directing donors to Fresno Bee stories about the patients and families of Valley Children’s Hospital.
Since its inception in 1988, Kids Day has raised over $11 million for “The Children’s Fund.”
Last year’s donations helped Valley Children’s expand its neuro-oncology, hematology and precision medicine programs, as well as funding that helped provide care for over 382,000 patient encounters, including 85,100 visits to its emergency department.
More than 250 schools from Modesto to Porterville will participate in selling the paper, including elementary, junior high and high school students, as well as junior colleges and universities.
Drivers are asked to use caution throughout the Valley, the children will be selling the paper on street corners throughout the Valley from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m..
Kids Day is sponsored by ABC 30 and the Fresno Bee, as well as Table Mountain Casino, Dutch Bros. Coffee, Mid Valley Packaging & Supply Company, Premier Valley Bank and more.
