One of Fresno’s fastest growing restaurant groups is expanding once again with the opening later this month of O-iza.
The sushi, teppanyaki and traditional Japanese restaurant will be the third at River Park for Jason Lin and Lin’s Restaurant Group. They also operate Jpot and Spicy J’s.
Lin’s Restaurant Group also runs Hino Oishi at Campus Pointe and both Ramen Hayashi restaurants in Fresno. Lin’s father opened Lin’s Fusion buffet.
They also operate a Rollie Rollie Thai-rolled ice cream shop in Clovis.
O-iza is hosting a private ribbon cutting March 19, with a soft opening March 20. The soft opening period will take about a month, with a grand opening expected in April.
O-iza is going into the former Brooks Burgers space, which opened in October 2021 and was done operating by 2022. Before that it was home to a short-lived burger restaurant with an aviation theme called The Hangar.
The original tenant was World Sports Cafe, which closed in 2014 after 15 years.
Lin has been behind several changes to the food mix at River Park, with nearby Spicy J’s Specialty Chinese Cuisine taking the space formerly owned by longtime River Park staple Dai Bai Dang at the end of 2019. Next door to O-iza, the Jpot hot-pot restaurant opened in April 2019.
