California manufacturers have an opportunity to participate in a debut competition.

The California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) announced its first “Coolest Thing Made in California” competition to showcase the state’s innovations, exceptional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technologies.

“The Coolest Thing Made in California” awards gives manufacturers the opportunity to highlight their most remarkable and inventive products.

With a variety of industries in California ranging from aerospace and electronics to food and beverages, the contest is expected to draw many creations that highlight the state’s innovative spirit, according to a news release.

“We are thrilled to bring forth the first-ever Coolest Thing Made in California awards, an event that truly exemplifies the remarkable accomplishments of our state’s manufacturers,” said Lance Hastings, CEO & President of CMTA. “California has always been at the forefront of innovation, and this contest serves as a testament to the unparalleled creativity and excellence that define our manufacturing community. We look forward to finding the coolest things made in our backyards.”

Nominations for the “Coolest thing Made in California” are currently being accepted through Aug. 31. The competition is open to anyone, including manufacturers, local and state leaders and the public.

This initial nomination stage is crucial in finding the unique and groundbreaking products that represent the essence of innovation, according to a news release.

The winners will be announced on Oct. 6 at the CMTA’s inaugural MakingCA Conference on National Manufacturing Day.
