Campus Pointe is fulfilling its original master plan with the grand opening next week of the 91,433 square-foot Hyatt House hotel across from the Save Mart Center.

A ribbon cutting is scheduled for the four-story hotel and conference center at the corner of Shaw and Chestnut avenues. The 91,433 square-foot hotel features 138 condo-like rooms and a 4,300 square-foot conference center, as well as a fitness center, swimming pool and breakfast space. There’s also a bar and grill called H Bar.

Ground was broken for the hotel in September 2023, but the idea of a hotel for Campus Pointe goes back two decades when the project was initially approved.

Hyatt House is the final component of the master plan inspired by a group led by Fresno State Professor Jim Aldridge that made recommendations of what they wanted to see at the development. The five recommendations were student housing, workforce housing, senior housing, entertainment center/movie theater and hotel.

Campus Pointe includes 530 units of mixed housing. The 16-screen Maya Cinemas opened in 2015.
