Downtown Fresno’s long-awaited affordable housing community appears near completion.
According to a social media post from Fresno City Councilman Miguel Arias, Hotel Fresno will be electrified next month. The 74-unit former hotel will be entirely affordable housing.
Arias’s post offered a first public look at what a two-bedroom unit looks like, complete with views of Downtown Fresno’s skyline.
In 2018, Fresno City Council voted to allow the California Municipal Finance Authority to issue $20 million in bonds to restore the building.
The building first opened in 1913 and housed former presidents John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon.
