High Sierra Showerheads, a shower head manufacturer based in Coarsegold, is entering the next round of the “Coolest Thing Made in California” competition, with one of its products being selected out of hundreds nominated.
Only 16 products remain in the competition.
Voting for products to narrow it down to the Top 8 starts today and will conclude on Sept. 14 at 11:59 p.m.
Hosted by the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA), the Coolest Thing Made in California” competition highlights the spirit of innovation and creativity found in the Golden State, according to a CMTA news release.
High Sierra Showerheads was nominated for its Half Dome Rain Shower Head, competing against other products from major companies including guitar manufacturer Fender, Lockheed Martin, Siemens and Tesla.
The company was founded in 2010 by owner David Malcom, who adapted irrigation sprinkler technology to make a water-saving shower head.
“We are thrilled to enter the Top 16 voting round of the Coolest Thing Made in California competition,” said Lance Hastings, CEO & President of CMTA. “This stage is crucial as it determines the top eight products who will compete for the first-ever title of Coolest Thing Made in California. We encourage everyone to participate, cast their votes, and support the products they believe truly represent the ‘coolest’ California has to offer.”
The next phase will go into the Top 4 and a winner will be announced on Oct. 6, which is National Manufacturing Day.
