Hanford native Dani Stacy is taking the national stage for NBC’s season 25 of The Voice.
The new season premiered Monday, with Stacy, 31, performing her rendition of “I Will Survive” while playing acoustic guitar. Her soulful performance turned all four chairs of the celebrity judges, signaling their willingness to work with her.
This season’s celebrity judges include John Legend, pop duo Dan + Shay, Chance the Rapper and Reba McEntire.
Stacy revealed on Instagram that she chose to be on Chance the Rapper’s team.
“Thank you guys for being so supportive and believing in me,” Stacy said in an Instagram post. “I’ve been chasing this dream for a long time, and it feels good to see some of that work come to fruition. I hope that if anything comes from this experience, at the very least, I can encourage others to do the same and never give up on their dream, whatever that is.”
The singer-songwriter was born and raised in Hanford. After getting her first guitar at 13, she secretly began writing songs and then decided to perform on stage.
She moved to Southern California to pursue her music career, working in songwriting and performing. She earned “Best Female Artist” for Ventura County. In 2020, Stacy released her single “Lie to Me,” she then decided to move to Nashville to further her career.
With her success in the season premier for The Voice, people can catch her weekly on Mondays at 8 p.m. while she continues to compete.
Viewers can vote for their favorite singers to receive a $100,000 prize and record deal with Universal Music Group.
