Grocery Outlet Inc. will host the grand opening of its second Visalia location on Thursday, Jan. 30 with giveaways — including a chance to win free groceries for life.

The celebration at 642 W. Riggin Ave. will include a $1,000 donation from store owners Stephen and Ashley Spelman to the Bethlehem Center, which provides meals to families in need twice daily at its dining hall, 365 days a year.

Festivities kick off at 8 a.m., when the first 100 customers will receive a Bliss Buck gift, featuring mystery amounts ranging from $5 to $500 for Grocery Outlet. Shoppers will also receive one free reusable bag with purchases throughout the store’s first weeks, while supplies last.

Grocery Outlet is also promoting its Free Groceries for Life sweepstakes, where shoppers using the store’s mobile app will have the chance to win a variety of prizes ranging from free groceries for a month, to free groceries for life.

The sweepstakes ends March 31.

New customers who register for the Grocery Outlet app and select the North Visalia location as their home store will also get a $5 coupon towards a purchase of $15 or more.

Grocery Outlet is based in Emeryville, and provides shoppers a variety of name-brand consumables and fresh products, according to a news release. The store has locations in 16 states including California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and more.
