The City of Fresno announced that beginning Saturday, April 1, residents must follow a 3-day outdoor water use schedule that will remain in effect until October.
The schedule gives residents the ability to increase water usage up to three days a week based on the resident’s home address. Previous schedules only allowed for one or two days of watering.
Residents with addresses ending in odd numbers are permitted to water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Residents with addresses ending in even numbers are permitted to water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Watering on Mondays is not allowed between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
This schedule is in place in order to accommodate the needs of Fresno residents for watering lawns and gardens during the dry summer months. The schedule will also give residents the opportunity to do high-volume watering tasks on the days prescribed depending on the residents address. Task such as this include filling or topping off pools and washing vehicles, windows, solar panels etc., with an automatic shutoff hose nozzle.
Even though the outdoor water use schedule allows water for three days a week, the Department of Public Utilities encourages residents to practice good water conservation practices.
