Two Fresno organizations helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have now merged, expanding assistance to help even more people.

Kings View and Central California Mennonite Residential Services (CCMRS) have combined and will operate under the name Kings View, according to a news release.

“It allows CCMRS to benefit from Kings View’s robust infrastructure while reintroducing vital supportive housing programs into our service offerings. Since our founding in 1950, Kings View has been committed to walking alongside those in need, regardless of financial or access limitations,” said Dr. Amanda Nugent-Divine, the CEO of Kings View.

Dr. Nugent-Divine will be overseeing the integration of the organization. The staff at CCMRS will remain at their jobs and will collaborate with the King’s View intellectual and developmental disabilities center in Atwater, according to Wayne Fox, the CCMRS board Chair.

Kings View was founded in 1951 by the Mennonite Central Committee to address the need for treatment of mental health, according to the Kings View website. Their services have since expanded, offering a day facility for adults with intellectual disabilities, behavioral health program, drug and alcohol treatment and many other programs for the community.

CCMRS provides Christ-centered services to persons with developmental disabilities which empower them to meet their goals while participating in a supportive community, according to the organization’s Facebook page.
