A Fresno native is integrating her medical background into the aesthetics industry, promoting a holistic, healthy approach to beauty from the inside out.

Melanie Boone, founder of Maven Integrative Aesthetics, transitioned from her primary care practice as a family nurse practitioner into aesthetics, founding her business around the philosophy of “bringing beauty from within” through treatments going beyond just injectables.

“Injectables, they’re more from topical, or outside-in,” Boone said, adding that the inclusion of IV therapy and other offerings at Maven Aesthetics will “help you from inside out; look good, feel good.”

The practice offers injectables, IV vitamin therapy, peptide treatments, weight loss support through GLP1 medication and other wellness-focused services. The practice is working towards certification to provide hormone therapy, a practice that she hopes will increase comfort among women seeking hormone treatment.

“We think that women would feel more comfortable coming to us for their hormone replacement therapies versus a male provider,” she said. “I’m going to take my knowledge of previously practicing primary care for five years.”

All of these treatments have one main goal — to make clients radiate their beauty from a deeper-than-surface level.

Boone’s background in medicine and her interest in whole-body health help distinguish Maven from many other providers.

While many practices offer Botox, fillers and enhancements, Maven offers a unique perspective, with their treatments focusing on what happens beneath the surface as a key to overall beauty and lasting results.

“A healthy body retains beauty and appearance longer and more efficiently than an unhealthy one,” Boone said.

She added that nutrition, exercise and routine health metrics play heavily into patient care as much as any injectable treatment.

“When you’re low on one vitamin or mineral you can’t produce another,” she said. “It’s like a domino effect on everything — you could be working out and running and taking medications…but if your vitamin D is at 11, you’re gonna have zero energy.”

Boone credits her experience in critical care and family medicine with helping shape her current practice. She began her nursing career in trauma ICU, where she worked six years before pursuing further education.

“I knew that I definitely wanted to further my career and education,” she said. “I’m more of a people person, so I went for everyday involvement with multiple humans and deep conversations and seeing them repetitively to manage their conditions.”

Her primary care role also saw her performing work in two offices, one on the north side of Fresno and one further south near Sunnyside.

“I was fortunate enough to be able to work between two offices…two completely different patient populations,” she said.

Boone was able to broaden her understanding of patient needs, treating insured patients in the north and more uninsured or underserved patients in the south.

Her path towards aesthetics, however, began in the north office, when she was introduced to Botox through a colleague, finding the field to be a natural fit.

“It ended up just working for me,” she said. “I like to say that I have an aesthetic eye.”

Maven first expanded to its Old Town Clovis location in 2021. Starting with just one, the clinic now boasts four treatment rooms.

Boone said that, despite that, they are still seeking additional space.

“I’m waiting,” Boone said. “I know God will put the perfect place in my path at the right time.”

Despite seeking a new location, Boone said that their Old Town Clovis location and the “feel” of the neighborhood, gives the practice much more of an “inviting” feeling, tucked in between the foot-traffic-friendly retail space of Clovis and Pollasky avenues and residential feel just to the west.

“It’s just a really good feel here,” she said of the Clovis location. “I’ve worked at other places and I’ve worked in medical complexes before — you don’t get that.”

Maven Integrative Aesthetics is located at 354 Pollasky Ave., Suite 206, in Clovis. For more information, including appointments, visit melnp.com or call (559) 765-4853.
