Before today, San Francisco and Seattle were the only U.S. cities to have the feature. Fresno joins San Diego, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Orange County, Palm Springs and Santa Barbara in the new rollout.
Uber officials said Scheduled Rides is the top requested service, and is popular for passengers seeking early morning trips to the airport. Passengers can schedule rides from 15 minutes to 30 days in advance.
“And even though we pride ourselves on providing on-demand rides, we totally get it. When you’ve got somewhere to be at a very specific time, it’s nice to have extra assurance that a ride will be available when you need it,” according to an Uber news release.
Business Profile and Uber for Business users in Fresno will have priority access to the service, along with riders who signed up to be the first to try it out. It will be rolling out to all Fresno riders throughout the next few weeks.
