The Fresno Grizzlies announced this morning the 2024 season slogan – “G’s Up.”

The slogan is a cry and call to action. The original “G” Paw logo was designed to strengthen the concept of Growlifornia and the Grizzlies’ ties to the downtown and the Central Valley as a whole.

According to the press release, G’s Up is the next chapter of this idea with a heavy focus on elevating downtown and rallying Fresno as a whole. The G Paw logo intentionally has five claws on it, one for each county that makes up Growlifornia: Fresno, Tulare, Kings, Madera, and Merced.

The G’s Up logo itself was designed by Sam Hansen, Grizzlies Marketing Consultant and founder of FTK Construction. Hansen said in the press release that the term “G’s Up” is rooted in the lyrics of the early 90s G-Funk music.

This music originated in California’s inner cities and quickly became the music of Fresno backyard parties, bbqs, and cruising lowrider cars. Today this music has been embraced worldwide as an iconic symbol of West Coast culture.

The urbandictionary.com website cites that: “G’s up” is similar to the phrase “fire it up.” It refers to becoming prepared; to bring your A game.

“Our entire organization is extremely proud to be a crucial part of downtown Fresno’s revitalization and our Central Valley community as a whole. Any time we can pay tribute to Growlifornia while rallying our fanbase is truly special, and we feel that is captured in this year’s slogan – G’s Up,” said Director, Marketing & Communications, Jonathon  Bravo.

The logo was introduced with the following verbiage:
